Last week I decided to head out in search of spring lambs and calves. I knew there was a farm in the city that was next to the park so I headed on over with my husband for a nice walk and to explore in the lovely spring weather.
While we were checking out some lambs we saw a calf and it’s mother in the distance that we almost ignored. Finally I decided I would head over a grab a couple of shots of it as well. When we got there we discovered that this calf was being “grafted” to a new mother. A practice where the hide of the mothers dead calf is put on another in hope that they will bond. I had never seen this before and apparently the hide falls off within a few days so I got the opportunity to capture something that I have not seen or heard of before.
