I have been experimenting with long exposure photography for the last couple of years and finally thought I should put a bit of an album together and share a few simple tips for long exposure photography:
- Use a tripod
- Experiment with ND filters
- Shutter speeds should be 1/15th of a second or longer
- Find a subject that has some movement in it (water, clouds, people etc)
- Experiment with the length of exposure
- It’s not as hard as it looks

When I started researching my trip to China I read about the show Impressions of Sanjie Liu and decided that it was one of the things I had to put on my list of to dos. I am so glad I did. To experience an outdoor show set on the lake surrounded by karst mountains made for a unique atmosphere and added to the cultural experience that was displayed during the show. Continue reading

A part of the tour I went on included the Kung Fu Show at the Red Theatre in Beijing. Since Kung Fu is full of action I decided to put together a little stop motion of a couple of the scenes rather than stills (video was not allowed)

This year my stock journey has been going in fits and starts. Some months I was super inspired, motivated and active in shooting stock and video, other months the business of life took over and I barely had time to pick up my camera. I had great intentions to grow my portfolio, focus on different content and create more footage. To some degrees I managed this, doing more lifestyle and outdoor shoots and a combination of video, time-lapse and photography during some of the shoots, on the other hand I feel I still have a long way to go.
