Microstock Anniversary 2020

Over the last couple of years I have been pretty slack with my microstock portfolios. I have been sporadic and uploading in bulk a couple of times a year.  In around August last year I decided to be a bit more dedicated, to my photography.  I decided to take time each week just to go out and take photos.  In doing so I also decided to upload any suitable images weekly. Depending on how busy I was I usually uploaded somewhere between 5 and 20 photos a week. I had heard somewhere it makes a difference to do it on regular basis and it definitely did.

Although each year I have loaded about the same amount of photos and videos online, this year when I worked on doing it regularly after about a month I started to see a difference in my income.  Basically the more active I was (even with only a few uploads) the better activity I had, even though I wasn’t necessarily selling the photos I just uploaded.  It at least doubled the monthly income I was getting from stock, just because I was consistent.

This was a big motivator for me. When you see files selling especially finding larger returns it was easy to keep up with making time to go out and take a few photos each week.  Not only that this helped keep my creative juices following.  It challenged me to come up with new ideas, explore new places and work smart.  As a result I also see my photography skills improving and
